Position Overview

Technical Program Manager in a mid- to senior-level position that supports the organization with their product goals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working across the organization with leadership and their own teams to manage the development and release of products.

Technical program managers are responsible for a company’s technical projects of all types and stay involved for each stage of development, from idea to design to their completion. They lead hardware and software design teams implementing new programs that will create products, applications, and additional projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute satellite missions 
  • Preparation of the detailed program/project plan 
  • Drive project execution from scoping through delivery.
  • Creation and sign-off of major milestones and roadmaps of programs/projects planned for the satellite missions.
  • Communicate schedules, dependencies, issues, and risks across teams and to stakeholders.
  • Establishment of communication modes and cadences with various stakeholders, conducting planned and ad-hoc meetings with various stakeholders to ensure project milestones are on track and to communicate the latest status to them, and sharing of meeting minutes and regular updates with various stakeholders
  • Lead program scoping with architecture, engineering, and senior leaders.
  • Produce weekly status reports and attend weekly status meetings.
  • Lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts with internal cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Keep senior executives and business teams updated on project timelines and results.
  • Align the audience to organizational goals and outcomes, create engagement, and empower teams.
  • Identification of risks and detailing of a mitigation plan to ensure that the project stays on track, or is brought back on track in the event of delays or blockers
  • A detailed work breakdown of the project into a backlog of requirements for the entire project, and prioritized backlogs for every iteration, typically maintained in tools like Jira and Confluence. This should include dashboards, visualizations, and reports to track key metrics (project metrics, customer metrics, and product metrics)
  • Establishment of learnings, best practices, standardized frameworks, and tools across programs and projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3 To 10 years of experience as TPM
  • Good knowledge and experience in embedded system design.
  • Certifications: PMP or Six Sigma is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes, and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • A critical thinker and problem solver.
  • Sound business acumen and ability to prioritize tasks as appropriate.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide cross-functional technical teams through the successful execution of the program
  • Initiating a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams
