The Spacecraft Power Electrical Engineering Lead will participate in all aspects of the development and test of power electronics hardware for XDLINX Space Labs satellites. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in power and battery electronics design including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the development of a spacecraft solar-battery charging system, battery management system electronics from clean sheet to flight.
- Develop and implement PCBA requirements, use-cases, and system integration.
- Schematic capture and PCBA layout for solar power, voltage regulation, load management, fault protection, power transmission, telemetry, and other circuits using Altium Designer.
- Circuit analysis including power related, SWaP, tolerance, and reliability related.
- PCBA design verification testing, qualification testing, and system integration testing.
- Collaborate on electro-mechanical design, test, qualification, and manufacturing of battery packs incorporating this BMS.
- BMS electronics design verification testing, qualification and acceptance testing, and system integration support.
- Lead design reviews for inter-disciplinary audiences. Manufacturing and flight support as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in power electronics design including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing.
- 3+ years of experience in battery pack electrical design.
- Experience designing rigid-flex PCBs and general electro-mechanical design familiarity.
- Expertise in solar power, voltage regulation, load management, fault protection, power transmission, analog instrumentation, and digital circuits
- Expertise in battery management circuits such as fault protection, cell balancing, thermal management, power transmission, power supplies, and precision analog instrumentation.
- Awareness of battery pack manufacturing techniques including cell characterization and welding.
- Experience in implementation or sustainment of automated battery manufacturing and test systems.
- Skilled at schematic capture and layout of complex PCBs.
- Skilled at performing circuit analyses in SPICE and Excel.
- Proficiency with basic electronic lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, soldering iron, etc.
- Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment.
- Experience designing for space environments including radiation impacts and mitigation is preferred.
